Our history
FOREX Bank was founded in 1965 by the travel agency owner Rolf Friberg in connection to him taking over the currency exchange office at the Central Station in Stockholm. Selling currency to travellers was a natural step forward. The little business grew and bacame FOREX. Until the early nineties it was the only company apart from banks that was allowed to trade currencies.
In the year 2003, we received our bank permit and became FOREX Bank . In May 2021, after 17 years as bank, the major part of deposits and loans were transferred to ICA Banken. FOREX Bank became FOREX again.
FOREX is currently the market-leading foreign exchange bureau in the Nordic region. In addition to foreign exchange, FOREX currently offers several competitive services. Please come in and meet us in one of our stores throughout the Nordics or contact us in any of our digital channels.
